Fuck Yea[h] NBA

This old school fight with Hornacek reminds me of a story I heard about Jerry Stackhouse.  An unknown gentlemen at a bar in the UES, was watching a Mavs game with me and we got to talking about Stackhouse.  He told me he did some promotional work for the NBA and he heard a story about Stackhouse.  So to recap, this is a story of a story of a story, so this game of telephone prolly embellished what really happened, but here goes.

Stackhouse got into a tussle with someone during a game (this person is never identified which speaks to the veracity of the story, but whatever).  The person kept calling Stackhouse a bitch or something, and Stackhouse just told him he’d see him after the game.  The game ends, and Stackhouse goes back to the dressing room, and doesn’t take his uniform off.  Instead he waits a second, and then heads over to the visiting locker room and knocks out the guy as he’s walking back in the tunnel.  He calmly goes back to his locker room and takes his shower.

Now I think this story is accurate because Stackhouse is a legitimate bad-ass.  Not exactly Charles Oakley bad-ass (no one is), but certainly someone you don’t want to fuck with because he has no qualms throwing down.  This is true in life too as the majority of people who threaten to fight in bars, never really want to get into a fight. 

My only caveat to the truthiness of the anecdote in question is where were the other opposing players and who the fuck was this guy?

Maybe it was one of the original strokey white guys-Jeff Hornacek and this was that game?  I don’t know.
