NEW YORK — Officials from the NBA and its players’ union are finalizing details of a bargaining session that will take place Tuesday in New York and possibly extend to Wednesday, a person familiar with the details told CBSSports.com.

I’m hoping there are more optimistic headlines like Pro Basketball Talk’s “When the Lockout Ends…” after negotiations prove fruitful and illuminating tomorrow. If not, I plan to Occupy Wall Street, but only for the lockout. I’m sure my fellow unemployed Caucasian brethren with scatterbrained ideas about what they’re protesting, will be pissed at my simple and singular demand: an NBA season.

If another week goes by, both sides will debate canceling the remainder of the preseason, which means it will be some ugly, ugly basketball come regular season time (if there’s a regular season). Anyone watching basketball in February of 1999 remembers. It was bad. Very bad.
