Fuck Yea[h] NBA

Sad story out of Bloomfield Township in Detroit today as Ben Wallace was arrested for DWI and possession of a firearm. He was pulled over after an officer noticed Wallace’s Escalade “had a hard time maintaining its lane of travel and was driving over lane markers.”

The cop smelled alcohol when he walked up to the Escalade, and Wallace said “he knew the English alphabet and could count, and ‘should still be able to walk in a straight line and stand on one foot.”’ They gave him a field breath test, where he exceeded the legal limit of .08. He claimed he only had 4 beers over a couple hours. His companion in the car also smelled strongly of alcohol.
Here’s where I got a little misty (because I loved old school Wallace):

he was taken into custody, handcuffed with the use of two sets of handcuffs due to his size (6-foot-8, 240 pounds).

Big fella was too big for one set of handcuffs. I hope he gets some good representation and stops boozing before driving; although, maybe he was covering for his equally intoxicated friend.
It’s weird to feel pity for a DWI arrest because he could have killed someone else on the road, but I still do. He always struck me as a bad-ass..Teddy Bear.
