After reading Michael Lee’s story on Washington Wizards guard Jordan Crawford, I can’t help but feel unusually reserved about his hyperbolic proclamation.

“I don’t tell nobody, but I feel like I can be better than Michael Jordan,” Crawford said, without the slightest hint of sarcasm. “When I’m done playing, I don’t want people to say, Michael Jordan is the best player. I want that to be me. That’s how I am. That’s how I was built.”

First off, I’m glad Crawford doesn’t “tell nobody” except Michael Lee, sports reporter for the Washington Post. Secondly, Crawford, if you don’t know who he is, sat the bench a lot in Atlanta, and then started some games for the Wiz last year after a trade. He even averaged 16 ppg in the short stretch where he got some starts. He appears to be well on his way to half a dozen MVP awards and Championship Rings.

Later, it was revealed John Wall wants to be the greatest point guard of all time. That’s fine.
