I ONCE CUT MY ARM,
AND THE NBA DRIBBLED OUT
Often, I'll attempt to climb high in the sky on the wings of poesy prose, but sometimes they melt

Fuck Yea[h] NBA
Scores from last night:
- The Knicks finally ended their 6-game losing streak last night with a whooping 111-78 victory against the Bobcats in Charlotte. The big story is Carmelo’s measly 1 point after failing to sink a field goal in a game for the first time in his career. Amar’e looked really good, as did Tyson Chandler (20 points/17 rebounds), and the Knicks cruised. What does this mean? Who the hell knows? The Knicks are weird, and Charlotte is awful. Kemba Walker is “’embarrassed.’” What more is necessary. We’re not even 1/3 of the way through the season. [New York Post; Charlotte Observer]
- The Orlando Magic bounced back from their historically bad night against Boston two nights ago, and defeated the Indiana Pacers 102-83 in Indiana. They needed this, and everyone on the Indiana bandwagon simply because Roy Hibbert looks good and David West and Tyler Hansborough (“Psycho T”) are playing well as alternating power forwards, needs to realize they’re like a less successful Sixers squad. Teams will need a franchise player in the playoffs—and neither team has one. [Orlando Sentinel; Indianapolis Star]
- The Cleveland Cavaliers went to South Beach and lost to a still-Wadeless Heat squad 92-85. Chris Bosh exploded for 17 points in the 4th quarter, which was good because LeBron only had 18 points on 8-21 shooting. Kyrie Irving looked good, again, and dropped 17 points on 7-11 shooting. Bosh was too much to overcome for the Cavs though. [Miami Herald; Cleveland Plain Dealer]
- The Memphis Grizzlies had won 7 in a row, but traveling to Portland ended that streak as they fell 97-84. The ageless Marcus Camby, had 23 boards and LaMarcus Aldridge had 24 points in the victory. Only Rudy Gay (11) and OJ Mayo off the bench (20) scored in double digits for banged up Grizzlies. It’s safe to say Memphis lost this game because they’re tuckered out. The NBA’s sprint competition in place of their usual scheduling marathon, is knocking out players with injuries and leads to some teams getting burned out. Memphis’ performance is one such example. [Commercial Appeal; Oregonian]
- Andrea Bargnani is capable of having offensive explosions like the one he performed last night in Phoenix. The Raptors traveled to Phoenix and defeated the Suns 99-96 and Bargnani’s 36 points were a large reason why. Former Sun, Leandro Barbosa, scored 18 points for the Raptors off the bench in his return. Marcin Gortat had 21 and 12 and Steve Nash had 17 points to go with 7 assists, but they fell short to snap a semi-winning streak. [Arizona Republic; Toronto Star]
